The Idaho
Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, August 18, 2011, 7:00pm.
The TIBF August monthly meeting
was brought to order 7:00pm. at Western Marine, Nampa, Idaho.
Those in attendance were: Bruce Flesher,
President; Tammy Shuyler, Secretary-Treasurer; Steve Day-Communications; Mark

Youth Report-Brian
Ashton Absent. Bruce reported in his stead.
- TIBF
Youth David Ashton and Alex Schneidermann participated in Nationals. Both reported having a great time and
appreciative of local support.
- TIBF
Youth State Championship is scheduled for August 28 at Cascade. Brian reports there are four youth
registered to date.
Conservation Report-Steve
Jones Absent. Bruce reported in his
stead.
- Lake
Lowell-Deer Flat Refuge update:
Activity continues advocating on behalf of the recreational usage
of Lake Lowell.
- Now
available are “Let US Recreate
Lake Lowell” stickers. Several clubs have them available to
sell to members. Additional
locations for sticker purchase are Howards Tackle Shoppe, Idaho Water
Sports and Western Marine. A
portion of sticker sales proceeds will go to future legal defense fund as
need arises.
Communication Report-Steve
Day
- Steve
Day is offering a service to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club
websites. Cost annually $100.
- Members
can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com
for all updates and information.
- TIBF
members have free ad space available on website.
Tournament Report-Bruce
Flesher
- Qualifier
update: East qualifier schedule is
complete. Last two North qualifiers
have been delayed to October. The
South last remaining qualifiers are in September.
Old Business
- 2012
Northwest Divisional planning-Mountain Home is location for 2012 NW
Divisional tournament for some time in May, 2012. Actual date is TBD. Tournament launch
from the Air Base Ramp. Bruce
still working out costs and details for rooms. City of Mountain Home leaders advise they have
had a positive response from sponsors who Bruce expect to have on board in
support of the event.
- President
expense discussion tabled.
- Compensation
for Idaho
State team
alternate-President and Conservation Officer are automatically listed as
alternates. An alternate fund should be established. One suggestion has been to increase the
qualifier fee. No discussion and
item tabled.
- Idaho
State Team member participation in conservation projects. Item tabled.
- TIBF
By-law changes-Tabled for majority vote due to inadequate numbers of
attendees at August meeting.
New Business
- Lowrance
contract-TIBF is eligible for $500 of free Lowrance products. Contract is
identical to past contract. Steve
Jones working on project to qualify TIBF for funds.
- Scales
of Justice tournament-September 17 at CJ Strike Reservoir. Volunteer participants including boaters
are still needed.
