The Idaho
Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, October 20, 2011, 7:00pm.
The TIBF October monthly meeting
was brought to order 7:00pm. at Western Marine, Nampa, Idaho. Those in attendance
were: Bruce Flesher, President; Steve
Day-Communications; Skyler Hill-MVBM, -Kurt Campbell-MVBM & Walleye; on the
phone-in connection: Brandon Craner, Steve Jones.

- Future
Fishing Foundation-Hooked on Fishing, not Drugs. Discussion by Bruce and members
attending regarding this organization and its promotion of “Hooked on
Fishing, not Drugs.”
- Idaho
Sportsman Show-Deadline to enter is November. A decision needs to be made
by TIBF to participate in show. Discussion ensued regarding adequate
member volunteers to man the booth and concern there is not sufficient
bodies to do so. It was suggested
that booth event be planned to minimize need for multiple volunteers and
less labor intensive.
- TIBF
also needs to decide which other youth events to support: C.A.S.T., Scales
of Justice, Cabela's show, Reel Kid's. Future Fishing Foundation also is introducing
a new youth fishing class program that TIBF may want to get involved with.
Conservation
Report-Steve Jones Absent.
Bruce reported in his stead.
- The
newest Lake Lowell CCP report is coming out soon.
- Now
available are “Let US Recreate Lake Lowell”
stickers; TIBF members are encouraged to purchase them to support the Lake Lowell recreation fund.
Communication Report-Steve
Day
- Bruce
would like to see the TIBF website updated with a new design. Steve can do it, but it would take 10 -
20 hours of his time to do the redesign and convert all of the current
pages on the website to the new design.
A new design would do away with the current frames layout and go to
a CSS design layout.
- Steve
Day is offering a service to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club
websites. Cost annually $100. Steve
still needs Idaho Basshunter
information in order to complete their website.
- Members
can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com
for all updates and information.
- TIBF
members have free ad space available on website.
Tournament Report-Bruce
Flesher
- Qualifier
update: all Qualifiers complete; the
State Team is listed on the TIBF website.
- TBF/FLW
is looking at a 2-man team tournament with one team per state fishing for
a national title. The qualifier
entry fees will have no payout, but this means there will be some
traveling money for each state.
Old Business
- 2012
Northwest Divisional planning-Mountain Home is location for 2012 NW Divisional
tournament on May 6-11, 2012.
Tournament launch from the Air Base Ramp. Bruce reports that Mtn. Home has all of
the meals potentially taken care of. He still wants to hold the weigh-in at the
City Park or Chevy dealer in Mtn. Home to
increase attendance.
- TIBF
By-law changes-voted on and passed.
New Business
- Solarbat has some more good deals on sunglasses on the
TBF website.
- 2012
Combined Qualifier Events-still discussing combining Qualifiers with IBFN.
- 2012
TIBF Banquet Planning-everyone present at the meeting thought that keeping
the current food items would be fine.
- Magic Valley wants to try and put on a Wounded
Warrior tournament on Sept. 15
- Dent Acres
at Dworshak is no longer accepting reservations;
rarely full, so this shouldn't be a problem.
- 2012
planning meeting is at Western Marine this year do
to Campbell Tractor remodeling their conference room into a training room.
Meeting is Nov. 3 at 7:00 p.m. at
Western Marine; it is recommended that people bring a seat with them.
- TIBF
officer nominations will be at the November meeting; bring any nominations
for officers with you. If no one
else wants to run, the current officers may be willing to go one more year
to accommodate the 2012 Regional tournament.
