The Idaho Bass Federation (TIBF) meeting Minutes Thursday, July 21, 2011, 6:00pm.

 

            The TIBF July monthly meeting was brought to order 6:00pm. at Western Marine, Nampa, Idaho. Meeting was held one hour earlier to accommodate the Fish and Wildlife special meeting regarding Lake Lowell at 7:00pm. Those in attendance were:  Bruce Flesher, President; Tammy Shuyler, Secretary-Treasurer; Steve Day-Communications; Steve Jones-Conservation Director; Roger Sheltrown-SRBM.

  • Junemeeting minutes approved.

 

Youth Report-Brian Ashton Absent. Bruce reported in his stead.

  • TIBF Youth Championship August 28 Cascade planning ongoing.  Brian reports there are four youth registered to date.

 

Conservation Report-Steve Jones

  • Lake Lowell-Deer Flat Refuge update:  TIBF has finalized a separate proposal and submitted to Fish and Wildlife.  July 9 Parade had large turnout, number unknown to date of participant however group large enough to fill up the large back parking lot behind Karcher Mall. 

 

Communication Report-Steve Day

  • Steve Day is offering a service to TIBF member clubs to create and maintain club websites. Cost annually $100.  
  • Steve advises he still needs items from Idaho Basshunters to complete their website.
  • Members can go to TIBF website http://www.idahobassfed.com for all updates and information.
  • TIBF members have free ad space available on website.

 

Tournament Report-Bruce Flesher

  • Qualifier update:  East is now complete.  South has completed two qualifiers with two remaining upcoming in September.  The North has seen increased participation in their first two qualifiers with 20 participants.

 

Old Business

  • 2012 Northwest Divisional planning-Mountain Home is location for 2012 NW Divisional tournament for some time in May, 2012.  Actual date is TBD. Tournament launch from the Air Base Ramp.   Bruce still working out costs and details for rooms.  He recently met with Mountain Home leaders who advise they have had a positive response from sponsors who Bruce expect to have on board in support of the event.
  • Cabelas, Father’s Day June 19 weekend event update:   Bruce, Steve Jones and Don Boeger manned the event which turned out to be a “non-event”.  The public interest was piqued regarding the “Save Lake Lowell” status.    
  • TIBF Facebook-Tammy has posted Lake Lowell information and links on FB site.

 

New Business

  • Alternate team member, president expenses and By-law changes tabled to August meeting.
  • Bruce advised group of recent events regarding Lake Lowell including notice of threatened litigation by groups.
  • Let Us Fish group decals are available.  Motion made and passed for TIBF to purchase 100 decals in support of the Lake Lowell ongoing activities and funding requirements.

 

Meeting adjourned 6:45pm.
